THE TYGER by William Blake

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright

In the forests of the night,

What immortal hand or eye

Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies

Burnt the fire of thine eyes?

On what wings dare he aspire?

What the hand dare sieze the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art,

Could twist the sinews of thy heart?

And when thy heart began to beat,

What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? What the chain?

In what furnace was thy brain?

What the anvil? what dread grasp

Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with thier tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright

I. About the Poem

"The Tyger" is a poem by the English poet William Blake published in 1794 as part of the Songs of Experience collection. Literary critic Alfred Kazin calls it "the most famous of his poems ".

William Blake(28 November 1757 - 12 August 1827)

 He was born in 28 November 1757 Soho, London, Great Britain and he died in12 August 1827 (aged 69) Charing Cross, London, Great Britain.

 He is English poet, painter, and printmaker.

 Blake is now considered a seminal figure in the history of the poetry and visual arts of the Romantic Age.

III. My Reaction

A. Reaction Point  - hyperboｌe(誇張)

There are a lot of questions to speak to somebody in this poem. Some these questions have a fear image. I feel little bit scared.

This poem is rhymed, for example bright and night, aspire and fire.

D. My General Opinion
I think this poem is little scared because I feel some question is one-sidedly.
